Religious Education

Religious Education

The parish is the center of faith formation for Catholics. Every person in your pews, every Catholic in your parish community…child or adult…is on their own journey toward Christ and a life of discipleship.

Religious Education Classes Grades K-5

They provide religious education for public school students of the Parish. The PSR classes are held on Wednesday nights at 6:15pm during the school year.

Sacrament and 1st Penance Preparation

This preparation begins in the 2nd Grade for children who have been baptized catholic and have been catechized at OSS or PSR since Kindergarten.  Attendance at all parent meetings is a requirement.  Families are also required to attend weekend Masses.

Confirmation and 1st Communion Preparation

The sacraments of Confirmation and 1st Communion are received in the 3rd Grade as a result of Restored Order.  Those children who have been baptized Catholic and who have been catechized since Kindergarten are able to receive these sacraments.  Attendance at all parent meetings is a requirement as well as an all day retreat for the students.  Families are also required to attend weekend Masses.

Middle School, High School Youth Ministry

The Outlet and SWAG are groups for our middle school and high school students that meet the 1st and 3rd Sunday at 7pm during the school year.  The students grow spiritually through prayer, activities and service.  Annie Ratliff and Randy Scott  lead these groups.
